Smart ports don’t just automate — they reinvent

Terminal Velocity is a system integration consultancy focused on container terminals.

We are building the real-time integration layer that lets your systems — TOS, Equipment, Maintenance, IT — finally speak the same language.

The Problem No One Talks About

Automation isn’t broken. It’s just disconnected.

Modern container terminals are filled with high-tech equipment and software — yet everyday tasks still rely on Excel, email, and manual workarounds.

  • Want to match machine data with your KPIs? Good luck.
  • Want to try predictive maintenance? That’ll take three internal projects and a custom connector from a new supplier.

  • Want to understand what caused a failure? Check that shift's handwritten logs, maybe.

This isn’t a technology problem. It’s an architecture problem.
The way systems connect today — point-to-point — doesn’t scale.

Our Approach: Unified Namespace

We use a Unified Namespace (UNS) to build a shared data layer where every system — from sensors to your TOS — publishes and subscribes to real-time events, in the same unified language.

Think of it as a digital backbone:

  • Systems connect once — not to each other, but to the UNS.
  • Data flows instantly, in standard formats, across your operation.
  • You get visibility, flexibility, and freedom to innovate.

  • The result?
    ✅ Lower IT integration costs
✅ Real-time data for BI, AI & analytics
    ✅ No more vendor lock-in
✅ Ready for optimization and automation at scale

WHY UNS? WHY Now?

The technology is ready

AI demands clean, real-time data

AI demands clean, real-time data

Unified Namespace (UNS) is a proven architecture already used in manufacturing, mining, and other complex industries.

It’s lightweight, scalable, and based on modern industrial protocols like MQTT and Sparkplug B.
Ports are just late to the party — but the infrastructure now exists to catch up quickly.

AI demands clean, real-time data

Everyone’s talking about AI and predictive automation — but what most terminals have is fragmented data, inconsistent formats, and hours-old exports.
Without a shared data model, AI is just a buzzword.
UNS provides the clean, consistent, live data stream that makes advanced decision support tools and machine learning actually usable — from forecast models to autonomous systems.

Standards are aligning

AI demands clean, real-time data

Standards are aligning

TIC4.0, ISO, and other global initiatives are working toward interoperability in port systems — but much of the thinking still depends on outdated integration models.
UNS offers a practical, field-proven way to implement these standards today — while staying agile for future needs.

Our UNS MVP Project

We are building the real-time integration layer that lets your systems — TOS, equipment, planning, safety, ERP — finally speak the same language.

With a Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture, your terminal becomes intelligent, flexible, and future-ready

We’re currently working on our first MVP implementation of a port-wide Unified Namespace — with a simple goal:

✅ Prove that a modern container terminal can gain real-time visibility without breaking what already works.

Our promise: To deliver measurable value in 6–12 weeks, and we do it without disrupting your current stack.

Implementation in 3 phases:

  • Phase 1: Assessment → What systems exist? Where are the data leaks?

  • Phase 2: MVP Deployment → First KPIs live in real-time via UNS.

  • Phase 3: Expansion → Add complexity: ML, forecasting, dashboards, LLMs.

Our knowledge is based on experience gained in the last decade implementing Greenfield Container Terminals.

Let’s explore what a UNS could look like at yoUR BUSINESS

What's next?

We’re building the integration layer ports have been waiting for.

Right now, we’re working with early adopters to pilot our UNS-based architecture — and we’re looking for forward-thinking terminals to join us.

If you’ve ever struggled with system fragmentation, vendor lock-in, or Excel-driven workflows, this is your opportunity to do something different — and foundational.

🚢 We’re inviting container terminals to collaborate with us on our MVP:

  • Real-world implementation of Unified Namespace
  • Measurable impact in 6–12 weeks
  • Co-create the future of port interoperability
